Assistant professor Marcus M. Larsen has won two awards for his dissertation research

This summer, Marcus M. Larsen, Assistant Professor at SMG/CBS, won two highly prestigious international awards for his dissertation research carried out at SMG/CBS: The Barry M. Richman Best Dissertation Award for the best dissertation submitted to the International Management Division at the Academy of Management, and the Buckley & Casson Dissertation Award for the best dissertation at the Academy of International Business. Indisputably, these awards are the two most important annual international awards rewarded to dissertation research focusing on international business. Further, is has rarely happened that both awards have been rewarded to the same dissertation. Marcus’ achievement—and hence also the recognition given to SMG/CBS —is therefore highly impressive. His dissertation focuses on the organizational design of offshoring, and adds a novel perspective on why some firms fail when relocating business activities abroad and others do not. The papers forming his dissertation have been published/are under review at advanced stages with major journals such as the Strategic Management Journal and Organization Science.
Congratulations, Marcus!
